Established in 2020
During the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic..
I was at home with my Wife telling her that I wish I had a place to get answers to the everyday questions that arise while growing cannabis. She told me to start a local Facebook page and that night on April 11, 2020, I created YEG Growers, an Edmonton based community I hoped would grow. Fast forward to now, December of the same year and we are over one thousand strong.
What I think sets YEG Growers apart from the other cannabis Facebook groups is the quality people, conversations and content. Every single post gets engagement whether it be the answer to a question, or a compliment from a #GrowArmy Member. We are aiming to build a community by hosting events such as the First Annual YEG Growers BBQ, our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway as well as creating a merchandise line so Growers can proudly represent the Community they belong to.
Myself, I grew my first cannabis plant in high school and fell in love. I’ve been seriously growing for the past 15 years and most people are surprised to find out. With legalization in Canada it is great to finally get to share one of my greatest passions; growing high quality, high yielding cannabis plants. I’ve learnt a lot using hydroponics, aeroponics and soil over the years and I hope to be able to pass that knowledge on and help fellow growers avoid the mistakes I’ve made. If there is one thing I know for sure, it’s that there is always something to learn and if we can use our online community for that very purpose, we will all be better because of it.
